Let’s Talk.
Hi, I'm Matilda Ipeh Anashie
I'm a Nigerian Product Design Lead with 6+ years of experience designing AI, fintech, creator economy, SaaS, and Web3 products across Africa, Asia, and Europe.
My background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering shapes how I work: understanding complex systems, finding the human problem within them, and building clear, trustworthy products. I currently lead product design for MUST Company’s Blockchain and User Experience Innovation Design team, guiding a four-designer team across two Web3 products, their websites, and a shared token ecosystem. I also introduced design-system and AI-assisted workflows that improved design-to-development handoff by 40%.
Beyond product work, I co-founded Canann Impact Foundation, contribute to open-source technology through Outreachy and ODK-X, and support the design community through mentorship, writing, and speaking.
My essays, notes, experiments, and opinions.

something happened today and I realised —
"Everything we need to be happy in life is right in front of us and yet we look for it in all the wrong places."
I love watching movies, but my latest obsession is K-drama. The stories and the acting keep me absolutely glued to my screen. A perfect weekend unwinding mood.

Bits of my life
Designing an ethical virtual coworking platform for remote focus and wellbeing.

Designed a virtual coworking platform that balances employee focus with useful HR visibility — without turning support into surveillance.
The remote gap no tool was solving.
Remote work created a paradox: employees are connected via tools but feel more isolated and less accountable than ever. Every tool solved one part of the problem.
The client brief called for one connected platform that could support presence, accountability, and wellbeing while giving organisations useful signals without exposing employees to invasive monitoring.
Four gaps driving remote burnout.
Work bleeding into personal life with no clear signal for when the day starts or ends.
No office energy to keep users on task. Without ambient social presence, focus collapses.
HR wants to help, but employees fear being watched. Monitoring tools breed distrust rather than support.
Remote workers miss the hallway conversations that build relationships and culture.
People don’t want a meeting. They want presence.
I interviewed 8 remote employees and 3 HR Directors, investigating the “Body Doubling” phenomenon. The distinction between a meeting and presence became the thesis of the entire product.
Double Diamond — from insight to delivery.
Combined 11 interviews and a diary study with a competitive audit of CoFocus and Flow Club to understand focus, presence, and trust.
Three distinct user journeys: Employee, HR Director, Super-Admin. Each with different jobs and success signals.
Built the HR analytics layer to show focus trends — never session content. Privacy-first by architecture.
Delivered employee, HR, and super-admin experiences plus the client landing page through one shared design language.
Three portals. One unified system.

Virtual co-working explained in one scroll.

Ethical analytics — designed in, not bolted on.
Instead of showing managers what an employee is doing, the HR portal shows focus trends. Managers get early signals. Employees keep their privacy.

A complete client handoff, with launch status unconfirmed.
I completed the end-to-end product design and delivered the employee, HR, and super-admin experiences alongside the landing page. My engagement ended at handoff, so this case study does not claim launch or post-launch performance.
